Gum disease is usually caused by the accumulation of plaque bacteria. The best way is to brush your teeth twice a day. It also smoothes the slight blemishes and rough texture plaque on the teeth to prevent further plaque growth.

Your dentist will advise you how often you will have a scale and polish. It is important to remember that professional cleaning is a good daily routine for oral health and should not be replaced twice daily with fluoride toothpaste.
