What's The Cost of Teeth Whitening?



 In general, the cost of tooth whitening varies from doctor to doctor, and the cost also depends on the type of whitening procedure.

The cosmetic dentist provides the patient with two types of professional tooth whitening. One is "take home tray bleaching", where the dentist makes a custom tray and delivers the bleached gel to the teeth for 30 minutes to overnight, depending on which type of bleaching gel the dentist thinks will give you the best results. Overnight techniques typically use a more diluted carbamide peroxide bleaching material and are used during a single sleep, usually in the mouth for 4-7 hours. Discus Dental's "nite white" is an example of this.



The shorter acting material is used in the tray for 30-60 minutes. Discus Dental's "day white" is an example of this material, usually based on hydrogen peroxide, rather than urea peroxide.

The second type is done in a dental clinic and is commonly referred to as "deep bleaching" or "strong bleaching." Some even use dental led whitening machine to activate the bleach gel more. An example of this is the Discus / Phillips "Zoom" bleaching treatment.

The cost of tooth whitening  depends on the materials and techniques used by the dentist. Some offices offer tray bleaching for new patients or other people with large amounts of dental beauty (porcelain veneers, porcelain crowns or adhesives). Others may charge between $100 and $800, depending on which technology the dentist and patient choose to use.
